OMG .......

I am over the moon!

They accepted it!!!

My very first submission to the very first publisher - and they accepted it!

My first in a series - "The Club - Bound" is going to be published!   The publisher is hoping to have it ready for May 2014 in electronic form.

Whoohooo I am an AUTHOR - a real one!   LOL.

I read in the contract that they (the Publisher) have first dibs on any book in a series and seeing how I have written the 2nd one and 3/4 way through the third there is a good chance they may get picked up also!

I honestly thought it would be rejected; actually commented to my best friend that I will probably be able to wallpaper the house with reject slips .... lol.

99% of unsolicited first time submissions get rejected so to get a 'yes' on the first submission is unbelievable, and to the first publisher!   Not only that; on their website in the submission details they say it takes between 6-8 weeks before you hear whether you have been accepted .... I got an acceptance letter after 10 days!!!

Now I will have to submit my really long novel as well.

Still doing the happy dance around the house!!!!

UPDATE :  Now I know it is real; I have just signed the Publishing Agreement!!!   Read the publishing schedule and my book will be available through the publishers website, Amazon & KINDLE, Barnes & Noble, iTunes, Googleplay and Borders KOBO.   This is so exciting!

And I have discussed the cover art work and blurbs!

Painting Subject and Kālachakra ......

Remember I mentioned I am in a Facebook group - Photo-a-Day ... there are some great photos that get posted each day; mind you, there are almost 14,000 members worldwide in it so you would expect some great ones.

Anyway, I have managed to get permission to use some of the photographs for paintings.  So far I have used 5 photographs and today there was another posted that was fabulous.

The ones I have used so far have turned into paintings called "The Old Lock"; which won me a 6 page spread of my artworks in a magazine, "Sabir", "Nasturtiums", "Campfire Days" and "Ju".

My latest choice is an elderly Buddhist gentleman in Leh, in the Himalayan kingdom of Ladakh.  The person who took the photograph said he continued to pray, oblivious to her presence.  To me, he looks at peace and introspective.  I always love painting the elderly, so I got permission from her to use the photograph.  I have called it "Living Buddha".

The people of Leh are ethnic Tibetan who speak an East Tibetan dialect.  In July this year the Dalai Lama will preside over the Kālachakra in Leh.
Kālachakra Mandala

The Kālachakra - Wheel of Time - tantra is the most detailed and encompassing system of theory and practice within Tibetan Buddhism. It has been popularized in recent times by the 14th Dalai Lama, who publicly gives the Kālachakra initiation every year all around the world.

Although the teaching is very advanced, esoteric, and difficult to comprehend, there is a tradition of offering it to large public audiences.

The Kālachakra initiations empower the disciple to practice the Kālachakra tantra in the service of attaining Buddhahood.   A tantra is a style of meditation and ritual.

There are two main sets of initiations in Kālachakra, eleven in all. The first of these two sets concerns preparation for the generation stage meditations of Kālachakra. The second concerns preparation for the completion stage meditations known as the Six Yogas of Kālachakra. Attendees who don't intend to carry out the practice are often only given the lower seven initiations.
Kālachakra Statue -Wheel of Time

The Kālachakra sand Mandala is dedicated to both individual and world peace and physical balance. The Dalai Lama explains: "It is a way of planting a seed, and the seed will have karmic effect. One doesn't need to be present at the Kālachakra ceremony in order to receive its benefits."

During the first three days of the Kālachakra, from July 3 to 5, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, along with the monks of Namgyal Monastery and senior lamas, will conduct rituals which prepare and consecrate the venue.

These include chanting of prayers, creation of the sand mandala and other rituals. From July 6 to 8, His Holiness will give preliminary teachings. On July 9, the Kālachakra Ritual Dance will be performed by the monks of Namgyal Monastery. His Holiness will confer the Kālachakra Initiation from July 10 to 13. On July 14, a long life empowerment (tsewang) and a ceremony offering prayers for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be performed.

Being a Buddhist it would be so wonderful to be able to travel and see this.   Okay, so time to buy a Lotto ticket and cross my fingers ..... lol

Fingers Crossed ..... UPDATE at the bottom.

Finger crossed all.

Submitted a manuscript to a publisher last Friday and I have to wait and see.

Anyway, the publisher has said they usually take 6-8 weeks to give you an answer so maybe I will get an great Easter present ..... lol.

It is the shorter manuscript, 26500 words, 'The Club - Bound'.  I figured I would try it first and then try the longer novel (75000 words).  I would expect it to be rejected; I don't know if anyone ever got their first novel accepted by the first publisher.  But all the same it is exciting just to know I have actually submitted something.

Got a review in from the longer novel, 'The Hunters Heart' and it was all positive; the reader loved it - thought the storyline was great, loved the characters and the steamy side of it. So happy that so far all the readers have given me positive feedback.

Another reason to like Facebook - I asked among my few hundred friends who would be prepared to read and review and lots put up their hands!

My son and his wife are having a scan next week and they hope to find out the sex of their baby - don't know if they are going to tell the rest of us or leave it as a surprise - but either way it is exciting.  Has been a horrid pregnancy so far but the last scan showed that everything is going well and the baby is doing exactly as it should.

Done a little 'baby goodies' shopping but I will definitely get more in before it arrives.

Met up with a couple of girls I used to work with many years ago; haven't seen or heard from them for ages.  Anyway, out of the blue I got a phone call from one and we met today for a coffee. Three and a half hours later we figured we had better call a halt but plan the 3 of us will meet up again soon and do it on a regular basis.

Have you ever caught up with old friends or colleagues and then spent hours and hours laughing and giggling?

Been raining and more is expected so I didn't get to drive up to Glenbrook; although I did have a Doc appointment yesterday, and have to go to the dentist tomorrow (hate the dentists but it is only for a check up so fingers crossed they don't find anything).

I have been known to chicken out and run out of the dentist's chair on a couple of occasions .... so big deep breathe tomorrow and keep my fingers and toes crossed.

So with the Doc, the Dentist and meeting up with friends I couldn't have gone to Jellybean even if the weather had been okay.  Will see what next week brings on both the weather and the health front.

UPDATE  :  Knew there was a reason I hate going to the dentist; now I have to have a root canal done on a tooth starting next month ..... aaarrrrrgggghhhhh!!!!

Knew I shouldn't have updated my home & mobile phone numbers with them when I got my new ones ..... silly me ..... lol.  I wouldn't have got a reminder for a checkup and I could be in blissfull ignorance still.

Happy, Happy, Happy .....

Doing a happy dance!

No brain tumour!  No bladder cancer!  No kidney disease!

Shit what a f**king 4 months; especially after the bloody great lump they removed last January!

Been thinking the worst, down so low.  At least now I can just get better without all those things hanging over my head!

Whoohoo! - Who's Normal?

Wow .... how exciting - got my results back, nothing nasty and I am 'normal'; well a small part of me is .... that's a first - the rest of me is happily

I am hoping by next week I can start getting out ... want to go up the Mountains and take some pics.

When I went to Jellybean last year, there was a great ford that was very scenic but because it was on a weekend there were a few cars around so couldn't stop; hopefully if I go through the week there won't be any cars and I can stop and take photographs.

Of course the other problem will be if it rains; the river rises very quickly and the track gets closed so just have to wait and see. Mind you we have not had decent rain in many, many months but the BOM have said today that decent rain is expected over 95% of Australia in the next week.  But whether that happens is another story.

Going good transferring my music to my ipod - have almost 7000 songs on now - around 500 hours so I think that may keep me occupied for a little while .... rotfl.

Happy Valentines Day to all my friends with partners - to those who don't have one .... Happy S.A.D. (Single Awareness Day)..... lol.

On this day you are encouraged to celebrate in your own way - so join me!

You could treat yourself to lots of chocolate, go to the movies, stay in bed all day, watch DVD movie marathons, buy yourself something special.

I indulged in some new undies - nothing like sexy underwear to make a girl feel happy when she is down .... lol.    Of course the only people who see them are me and anyone who looks over the back fence when I wash them and they are on the line but who cares?

Just the knowledge that you have something exotic underneath the jeans and shirt is enough to bring a smile to the face of any woman  Next time you see a woman with a secret smile and you wonder why, it may just be because she is feeling oh so good.

I will also buy myself some yummy chocolates - either Ferrero Roche or Guylian Seashells ... my two favourite chocolates.  So have a very happy S.A.D!

Got a few calls from the guy I had dinner with a couple of times; told him I wasn't interested in taking things any further and thanks for the two dinner dates.  He rang and kept asking to go out again and I had to get firm in the end and tell him I just wasn't interested in him.  Hopefully he got the message - there has to be a spark, some chemistry for things to work and it was only on his side.

Got another request for contact and accepted; talked for a number of days and we got around to discussing a coffee date then he dropped the clanger - he was a cross-dresser and could only have sex if he was dressed as a woman and the woman he was with was also fully dressed.

Ooookkkaaayyyyy - whatever floats your boat is fine by me - this just doesn't float mine.  Now if he had said he was into bondage or wax or something I may have been interested enough to meet for coffee but a crossdresser?

No - sorry but no thanks.

I seem to attract all the weirdos, the rock trolls, the scammers, the way-out kinksters and the just plain yuk uglies out there.  I have no idea why; my friends call me 'the weirdo magnet' ... lol.

Just once it would be nice to get contacted by a genuinely attractive nice tall guy who I am attracted to and who is attracted to me in return - haven't met one of them for a hell of a long time, probaby since I was in my 20s ..... lol.  Would be nice to fall madly in love just once.

Still I have found it another way - I don't like ice-cream; never really have.  Anyway, the other day I had a craving for some, beats me why but a girl should never ignore cravings.  So I bought some Connoisseur Murray River Salted Caramel with Macadamia - I am in LOVE!!!

OMG - it is out of this world!

Tried the Sumatran Coconut and it is almost as good.  They just may just change my mind about eating ice-cream.  So now sitting in my freezer is a box that is calling my name; just like a siren sitting on a rock singing and calling to me ...... beckoning .... eat me!   eat me!

Drugs .....

Spoke too soon.  Had to go back to the Docs today - more drugs and have to have an ultrasound next week.
